Proceeds from Certain Days

Certain Days is a fundraiser. The proceeds from Certain Days 2020 will be divided among these groups:

RAPP (Release Aging People in Prison)

The RAPP Campaign mobilizes currently and formerly incarcerated people, their families, and other concerned community members. From this united base and through the RAPP Coalition, we work alongside other prison justice advocates to (1) raise public awareness about the destructiveness of mass incarceration and the benefits to society in releasing aging people, including those convicted of violent crimes who do not threaten public safety; and (2) promote the use of key mechanisms for releasing elderly people, such as parole, compassionate release, and policy changes.

Addameer Prisoners Support and Human Rights Association

A Palestinian non-governmental, civil institution which focuses on human rights issues (Addameer is Arabic for conscience). Established in 1992 by a group of activists interested in human rights, the center’s activities focus on offering support for Palestinian prisoners, advocating the rights of political prisoners, and working to end torture through monitoring, legal procedures and solidarity campaigns.

Civil Liberties Defense Center  (Eugene, OR)

The Civil Liberties Defense Center supports movements that seek to dismantle the political and economic structures at the root of social inequality and environmental destruction. We provide litigation, education, legal and strategic resources to strengthen and embolden their success.

Rosenberg Fund for Children  (Easthampton, MA)

The Rosenberg Fund for Children was started by Robert Meeropol, who was orphaned at age six when his parents, Ethel and Julius Rosenberg, were executed at the height of the McCarthy Era. In 1990, Robert figured out how he could repay the progressive community that helped him survive. He founded the RFC to help children of targeted activists in the U.S. today- children who are experiencing the same nightmare he and his brother endured as youngsters. In September 2013, Robert’s daughter, Jennifer Meeropol, took over for him as the RDC’s Executive Director.

Since its start, the RFC has awarded more than $7.5 million to benfit thousands of children in the U.S. whose parents have been targeted because of their involvement in progressive movements including the struggles to preserve civil liberties, wage peace, safeguard the environment, combat racism and homophobia, and organize on behalf of workers, prisoners, immigrants and others whose human rights are under threat.

…and more

In addition to fundraising for the aforementioned groups, a portion of our proceeds is set aside to contribute to campaigns or organizations doing work that aligns with the politics behind Certain Days. Past recipients have included Amistad Law Project, Six Nations Land Defenders Legal Defence Fund, TGI Justice Project, Women’s Wellness Within, Solidarity Across Borders, 4strugglemag, Unist’ot’en Camp, The Freedom Archives, and many more — read about them at A portion of the 2018 proceeds were donated to the Abolitionist Law Center, which has worked tirelessly for the rights of political and politicized prisoners.
